Well, if we are going to do what Jaakko says it will decrease the amount of votes in my opinion. Everyone don't have time/motivation to watch all cinematics and then tell something about them. So it would be better if they just vote for the winner or make comment what is the best cinematic and why. Of course if there is example less than five cinematic then it is fine.

How many minus points are there for 10 seconds? Pffff..... This sucks......

Maybe 1 second = 1 point? Dont know, bob can propably give a better answer.

As for the deadline, useally if only a day is given, no time of day, it means that the ending day is part of the deadline. So if a contest ends at the 15th, it would end at 00.00 of the 16th.

Yea maybe, it will probably either be 1 seconds = - 1 point, or 2 seconds = -1 point.

I hope that limit is including tomorrow, I was making terrain whole day and I just finished cameras position. Now just triggering

Ok good, looking forward to seeing it :)

I never asked for the rules to be changed. Oh and btw, you didn't answer my question. Maybe you should read more carefully....

You can have the cinematic at whatever length you want, but you will loose points if you go over. There does that answer your question?

Here is my cinematic for the competition. The full game length is 1.26(86-8(information)-20(credits)). But the cinematic itself should be 58 sec long.

Have fun watching and remember to turn speakers on.

ok thanks for the entry.

I just want to say that when there is going to be a public poll it will be only fair if people who watched all contest cinematics can vote. To see if they really watched all entries the voters should say what they liked about the cinematics and what could be improved. Okay Bob?

Nobody should vote unless they watched all of the entries.

Well while I agree that people should only vote if they have watched all entries, but there is know way of forcing them to watch them all, and I doubt people want to post reviews of a couple of cinemaitcs just to vote.

I think Bob27 must choose 4-5 mods to vote for the cinematics.

Nah, everyone will be able to vote. Otherwise its not really a public poll is it?

Thanks for the entry kmatt! :infl_thumbs_up:

I'm going to upload my cinematic to Hive Workshop maps and just give the link here people can use later this night.
You cannot because the rules says that "When you have finished your Cinematic, you can either post it here in this thread, or you can use the Pastebin, and then just Private Message me the link to the Paste."

Well I'm sure it's totally okay to just post a link to a Hive map. If it's not I will paste it only if Bob tells me to.

Sorry I don't know what is wrong. I made my map using WEU but it should work with normal WE. For me it works with WE.
EDIT: Oh I just tried it with WE and it says trigger function does not excist. Sorry I didn't really mean it but if you have WEU you should be able to open it. :(
EDIT2: For what I think I didn't use any WEU features so I don't understand what is wrong with the map. Wasn't the point to watch the cinematic not open it?

Yeah, now all cinematics are complete!

Here are some comments by me on yours:

Deserted Revenge
+ Nice scenery at the beginning
- you nearly did not work with camera perspectives at all
° you showed that you are able to create massive VFX, but they are so many that the cinematic looks more funny than thrilling - did you intend this?

Dwarf vs. Naga
+ nice sniper idea
- music startet at map init (still in loading screen), use gametime 0.00 instead
- camera went through objects quite often
- timing was not that good; there were often moments where the cinematic seemed to wait for something to happen

Haunted Gold Mine
+ the synchro sounded so funny, I just love it! Perfectly idiotical.
- the watcher could often see parts of the terrain that were not edited
- no cinematography (camera use)

OrcEd
+ terrain is not bad
- music startet at map init (still in loading screen), use gametime 0.00 instead
- very few cinematography
- your cinematic did not finish!? The final camera showing grom just waits and the only possibility to get off the map is to quit war3. Not very nice...
- remakes are generally not the best idea and if they even visually have no chance to top the original, better wait until you get an own idea next time!

Tainted Trail
+ interesting story-workaround for a nice action battle
- music startet at map init (still in loading screen), use gametime 0.00 instead
° you definately should take a look at my camera system. It will take a little time to get the functions, but the effect is definately worth the effort. If you have such crazy mega sways like in the beginning, they should be smooth!
° very many custom models used; this may make it more difficult to compare it to the other cinematics

End Of The Curse
+ nice terrain
- nearly no cinematography
- no real story; no characters, just battle

Escape
+ very original idea
+ good atmosphere created by very nice terrain and good cinematography
- a little too dark; especially in the end there was nearly nothing I could see, even after I pitched up the gamma
- damn it, setup the cinematic mode at map init, this 0.3-second view on the interface kills the atmosphere - 2 seconds more loading time won't!
° when I read Pirates of the Caribbean, I thought "again that 'He's a Pirate' theme I heard a million times" - nice surprise to here a part from the third soundtrack. It's clearly the best of the series!

Winter's Veil
+ good use of custom models
+ interesting coreography, good action sequence
° the ending was a little too less epic in my opinion... well it's too surprising to be persuading!
° just like Tainted Trail: You should take a look at my camera system. It could add so much especially to the long sways at the beginning.

Short Cinematic
+ weird music fits well to the rest and turns the crazyness into fun, nice!
- VERY short
- no story, no cinematography
° every time I watch the cinematic, it looks different. That means that you did not take much control making it - this is provoking bugs; better try to get as much control as possible if you make a cinematic

Awesome Robbery!
+ you showed that you know how to create VFX and create big colorful bam-pictures using them
- poor cinematography
- too weird and too many effects to be exciting (in my opinion it's not even funny, but this is just my opinion), it's just crazy
° if you use such small time differences, don't use waits to take of control of them, because they are very unexact. Use (periodic) timers instead.

Generally, I love this contest because the entrys are so short that it is no problem to watch them more than one time.
Finally, two tips for nearly all of you:
- a watcher does neither win nor loose a cinematic. Usually it's the easiest and best choice to use the trigger action "Victory Playerx NOT showing dialogues, NOT showing scores".
- every cinematic should have a working escape feature. It's not difficult to implement in only cinematic maps, so don't shy the effort - it just looks unprofessional if a cinematic can't be canceled.

A very nice review on all the cinamatic's, you really took your time and that shows, what a great review you made. But, I don't really agree with the comment of the escape function. I think that an escape function is a useless function made only for the people that maybe don't have the certain ability to push ALT+F4 but that's my opinion. Sometimes there may be a great cinamatic but without an escape function, but that won't mean that it is unprofessional, just a thought. :p

Thanks for the review Waldbaer, I just didn't bother with an escape function in a 1 minute cinematic.

And yes, I know that it might be a bit dark on some monitors, but it is supposed to be rather dark and in the last area it is mostly just a barren area cornered by rocks. I made 90% of the cinematic the last day, it was too rushed and had some problems that I would like to have fixed but oh well.

I originally had it not showing the win/loose stuff but I had it on for testing to see how long the cinematic was and forgot to take it off again >_<
