I tried to download the 1.00 installer from here on 2 different devices:

-One is a win10 device and when I do, I get like 4-5 files. I can install it but need a CD to play. Unfortunately no cd player there but thats a me problem
-The other is a win7 device and when I try to download it, it just shows an .iso file? And it needs a CD player there to just open it like I'm "writing" the file or something? Im confused can somebody help me out here?

You need a third-party program like Daemon Tools to open the ISO file in case you don't have a CD player (which is quite obsolete today).
If you don't want to play the game with the CD, you need to install the patch (only up to 1.27b). However, I strongly recommend installing the 1.07 (TFT) as well right after installing the 1.00 (ROC). That way, you'll be able to install the patch for TFT so that both games will be patched to the specific version.
To be fair, 1.21b is the first version of the game to be played without CD.
You can also get the 1.21b or 1.27a installers for both ROC and TFT. These remove the CD check, unlike 1.00 and 1.07.
If you're aiming for the 1.28+, then skip the methods above, and go straight on downloading the files from the "Game Files" section in this thread.

Well, all Warcraft 3 patches up to 1.21b will obviously require a CD in order to play. There appears to be an alternate solution to remove this CD check by using a fixed executable files, but it really "violates" the piracy rule of this forum.
Also, if you have multiple installations of Warcraft 3 through official installers (either original CD from 2003 or digital version from 2008/2016), make sure you put the installer inside the game folder, then run it so that you won't get "InstallPath" error.

its ok i managed to fix the problem by unzipping the files from the iso on my win10 computed and transferring them to win7. Downloading winrar on the win7 might have helped as well. i put my old cd in there and everything worked out fine xD

Custom campaigns are stored in "Documents\Warcraft III\Campaigns" folder. If the "Campaigns" folder doesn't exist, create it yourself.
If you are using pre-1.28 Warcraft III, place the campaign files in the "Campaigns" folder directly in the game root.

If you have an existing Battle.net account, you can go to the official Blizzard website, click on your account, and navigate to "Games & Subscriptions". Scroll down until you'll find a section called "Classic Games". Here, you can find a CD Keys for both Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne.

If you want to play 1.31, you ONLY need Reign of Chaos CD Key. That version comes with The Frozen Throne by default. And remember that if you want to update your existing game to the latest version with Reforged build, you CANNOT use the license key that's associated with Reforged HD mode for unlocking the Classic graphics, and vice versa.

As a quick tip: The location of CD Key files is in "windrive/ProgramData/Blizzard Entertainment/Warcraft III" (assuming you are using 1.31). For version between 1.28 and 1.29, they are located in the game root.

I installed the game from "Other Langauges" tab and it just worked out of the box with the .exe file. So I got super confused because everybody here is talking about inserting CD keys, and at no point was I promted to do so.

If you're still confused about inserting CD Keys for 1.27, you can get a full installers of the game.
The official Battle.net server still provides a full 1.27 installer for both Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne (aka "Legacy WC3").
For the Russian client, simply replace "enUS" with "ruRU" under "locale" string before download.
After that, download 1.27b installer (choose TFT) and run the patch.
You can get non-English version of 1.27b patch here. Since you're looking for the Russian, you must download the Russian version of the patch as well.

That's normal. I think your AV/WD seems to treat some of the files you downloaded as a false positives.
If possible, you might want to disable AV/WD and add the whole game folder to your exclusions.
I'm using ESET, and I haven't encountered this kind of issue when extracting the game, including Warcraft III.

Sure. I extracted the whole content for Russian 1.27b and no problem occurred.

I have also downloaded backups for 1.29.2, 1.31.1, and even the 1.36 (not the latest one).
In case you want to install multiple versions of the game without issues, try cleaning up your game registries first.
1.27b might be a tricky one cause you have to completely uninstall this game immediately once you made a backup as a ZIP files.
You can't use World Editor for the older builds if you had previously opened the 1.32+, unless you do the registry trick (Tool Window).
The last one (1.36) I got it from the other site (not HIVE). I'm not sure if this is the original considering you can only get the latest Reforged build from Battle.net app, but you can use it if you have a problem with the most recent versions.
You can also update the existing Reforged files to the most recent one by using the Battle.net app. Simply use the "Scan Game" feature and let the app update it.

Here is a 64 bit mac version uploaded to the Internet Archive: 1.31.1.12173 Mac (64 bit)
This is the last patch before the game was converted to Reforged. So this version's size is only 2 Gb. It is unique, because previous versions that can be found on the internet don't work on modern macs anymore, but this one does. It has been tested on M1 Sequoia.

I don't know about Reforged Beta. It seems Blizzard have removed it by the time the normal release came out.

This limitation, combined with regular crashes, makes it difficult to appreciate the numerous intriguing differences between the beta and the retail version.

But some people choose to create a modifications of ROC Beta to be playable on normal single-player release of the game, like this fan-made map below, which allows you to play ROC Beta on a single-player mode with the QOL improvements brought by modern version of the game. But again, this is NOT an original ROC Beta game, and this mod requires the latest patch of the legitimate game from Battle.net (currently 2.0.), which obviously incompatible with the older Warcraft III versions you got from this thread.

That's sad, I miss seeing those versions before the commercial version, I searched through my old files on my old computer, I found that there was a crack called Wcr3betacrack, if I remember correctly, I thought I had it but it was a notes file. Do you know anything about it?

That mod only contains 3 maps (Gnoll Wood, Golems in the Mist, Lost Temple); all of which were available on original ROC Beta.
I'm actually quite stupid for forgetting to also check the portable version of ROC Beta that I downloaded from this thread.
In this picture below, you can see that there are 11 original melee maps being tied with ROC Beta (the other map, which is "OGG_Sound_Test.w3m", is a custom-made map that's not surely a melee one):

Try using the Google Search by yourself. I can't really help you since this forum doesn't allow any kind of piracy.
Other than that, it's quite difficult to find those things, especially considering this original game (not Reforged version) is quite old.

What do you mean with "Reforged" exactly?

You don't actually have to own the full game. If you have a Battle.net account with the old ROC/TFT key attached, you can still download the latest patch of the game (currently 2.0.1) and play with the SD graphics. Purchasing the full game simply unlocks both SD and HD graphics, which can be toggled on/off in the Game Settings (or you can use a combination of SD/Classic HD and Reforged HD assets if you are using the Reforged graphics with 2.0.1).

Any versions available in this thread is considered pre-Reforged and is no longer supported on the Battle.net application. Even Blizzard is no longer providing a working download link for the game client (the legacy downloaders for 1.27 are still available from Blizzard, though). Simply get any pre-Reforged versions here (either "Game Installers" or "Game Files"), but I strongly recommend getting the ones from the "Game Files" section. As long as you have a valid keys, you can still be able to play the pre-Reforged versions without any problems. Of course, you can ONLY play this version with the others on any third-party Battle.net servers (like Eurobattle.net).

I'm suspecting that you are trying to download Warcraft III from the official Blizzard site, which isn't working anymore because of Reforged. actually no. when i download 1.31 i did not find the i got confused because there is no Warcraft 3.exe so i click Warcraft 3 Launcher and it actually download the game and i check on battle.net it is actually downloading the game so i ignore it and keep it download the game despite me not buying it. although in the next minutes i found Warcraft 3.exe and it did ask for CD-key so i search on internet for CD-key. i got it and use it. Warcraft 3 1.31 versions is working i can play Custom Campaigns. but most of the maps that i download need updated versions such as 1.36, 2.00 or legacy versions such as 1.27

If you want to play campaigns that use 1.32+, then buying the game is probably the simplest way. Once you buy it, you can play old campaigns and new campaigns, since wc3 editor is forwards compatible, unless the campaign/map was made with a third party editor or used memory hacks.

What should i do, then? all the maps from custom campaigns most of them need requirements of 2.00 and i only download 1.31 from this thread

You can have a multiple versions of the game (can be both 2.0.1 and 1.31.1), but you MUST put them on the different folder.

However, as tulee mentioned in one of his posts, you can always play older maps/campaigns on the latest patch as long as you own a legitimate copy of Reforged. Purchasing Reforged will not only give you a full access to the Reforged-exclusive contents, including the ability to use the Classic+ addon, but your Classic key (Reign of Chaos) will also be added to your account. It's the opposite that would cause you problems. Some campaigns or maps may not work correctly with the latest patch mainly because they were made with third-party WEs (like JNGP) or they used some kind of memory hacks (like DOTA).

Of course, if you want to play the game on the latest patch (2.0.1), you will obviously need a legitimate copy of the game from Battle.net. Using Reign of Chaos key will ONLY allow you to play an up-to-date version of the game with the Classic SD graphics.

If you are going to play pre-Reforged versions of Warcraft III, you MUST use "Warcraft III.exe". It's located in the "x86_x64" folder.
When you open "Warcraft III.exe", there will be a small window where you put your CD-Key.
When the game starts up, be sure to click on "No" when the game asks you for Reforged update.

Yes. But those methods cannot be discussed on Hive. More importantly, non-official methods will probably cause you to spend lots of time trying to get them to work since they are not straightforward. Furthermore, every time Wc3 updates, even a small update (2.001245 => 2.002222, etc) maps/campaigns saved on that slightly higher version of Wc3 will then cause errors with your "older" version of wc3, whereas by buying the game, Wc3 will auto update, so you do not need be always chasing the latest version of Wc3.

When I play foreign language versions of the game from this thread, it doesn't ask me to input the key at all, is that normal? I am talking about 1.27b specifically.
