Alright, folks, I've compiled your suggestions from the discussion thread into a poll so that we can vote on the next contest theme. You can cast your vote even if you don't plan on participating, and you can vote for more than one theme. What matters is that we choose an engaging and fun theme together!

A few words about each possibility:
  • Scarlet Crusade - We're all familiar with these zealots who serve the light and hate the undead
  • Void - The void is a place of many dark and usually purple creatures and entities, that can corrupt or offer power to those who seek it.
  • Outland - The broken world of Draenor is home to many creatures and unique animals and people not found on Azeroth, let us see what this place has to offer.
  • Undead - The Scourge, the Forsaken... we all know how powerful the Undead are in Warcraft as they accept any and all corpses into their ranks.
  • Techno-magic Fusion - Whether it's Goblins or Gnomes for technology; Elves and Orcs for the Arcane and Shamanism, magic and technology can be moulded into something greater than either!
  • Dragon (Drakonid/Dragonkind) - The ancient guardians of Azeroth charged by the Titans with protecting the world, these creatures come in many forms but all are powerful and not to be trifled with.

As much as I want to texture human models, I can see Scarlet Crusade's compulsory red hues clashing with team color a lot.

While I think options 2, 3, and 5 are a bit too broad in scope to be inspiring, I do have a soft spot for Void.

Technomagic strikes the right balance as a theme.

I'm rather stoked for a Dragon + Custom Model combo. :D

In situations where the Scarlet Crusade stuff would be used as red by default/in a campaign/story setting, I don't think the team color clashing would be a problem. Much like how the vanilla Blood Elves are red in campaign, but otherwise suck for team color.

Definitely putting my vote in for that since they're always fun to see.

Techno-Magic sounds awesome! Getting some Arcane Hextech or Chempunk vibes from it.

Excited to see where this goes!

I've run into this a fair bit with my idiosyncratic kobold colouring. It makes the palette pretty limited though!
Orcs are green, which doesn't disqualify them given the green TC option. Is the answer to use more washed out colours? Or try to aim for hues in between TC ones?

I was going to mention NE's and purple, but maybe it is less of a problem when the model is almost entirely one hue, then the TC either differs or doesn't.
If you have different elements that are various hues, any of which could be mistake for TC, that is probably more an issue.

I have a couple ideas for Alterac units, and I was planning on using orange as an element. But it would it would be a little different shade to the TC orange.

After a little delay the contest is now underway!

I think this might be the first time we have voted and therefore allowed both vanilla models and custom models from the Hive Workshop, we'll see how it goes,
