Is this map substandard due to problems or lack of features?
Both. It is important that a map should either bring something new to the table or be on par with others of its genre, of course not a rip off, I mean.
2. It's not going to be close to Blizzard original map, it'll evolve in different direction
Fine, then make it better please.
4. There are no other racers, would it made a big difference if I'd add some computer-controlled players?
It would be better. But why not try multiplayer too?
5. Please explain the problem with mechanics, I'd like to understand what's inconvenient here for the others.
I really like the acceleration but the fact that there is no reverse and that you can get stuck or thrown haphazardly ruins the experience and going at a low speed just to avoid that is besides the point of the desired experience.
6. Ok, what was the impact of this one to final score. Is this map substandard mainly because of terrain?
Of course not. It's just a simple map (terrain and concept) with bad gameplay mechanics (mostly due to the game engine), simply put.
7. Is this the problem with mechanics you've mentioned above? Would a "back to road" button solve this?
It will help indeed, obviously. You could even make it so that the vehicle gets damaged every time it hits something based on its speed during impact.
8. The track is so simple that you can find it by looking at the minimap. It also could be fixed if there were no bigger problems.
Sure but since in rally there are two persons and only one of them uses the map, here you have to do both yourself while speeding up and trying to pay attention not to hit a wall. What I mean is, maybe you could make the track have some signs, having a welcoming environment. You can learn from this map (
Crazy Dwartf Race V1.30) how proper terrain could work or just let yourself inspired by real rally tracks.
I've seen you've uploaded yet another one. Please don't spam Maps with such maps. They are too similar in that they are almost copies of each other. I would advise putting them all together in one map thread.
