W3A1: Overgrowth of Lordaeron HD

With permission from and in consultation with Xetanth87:
Reforged HD upgrade of the great The Overgrowth of Lordaeron originally made by Xetanth87. Now with working lip animations in portraits, updated HD models, new units and much more.

TIP: USE PORTAITS IN CINEMATICS

The mod is not adapted for the non portrait version of cinematics.
Another tip is to try the campaign with quenching mod.


Q: Can I still play the SD version?
A: No, this version is only for HD. Please seek out the Xetanth87 original version for SD.

Played on 14-03-2025 version of campaign

(I once played the original by Xetanth87, but I don't remember all the details, so I'll write my notes here about the campaign in general.)
After playing Exodus of the Alliance, I decided that with my skill level it's better to play on Normal. And I turned out to be wrong, since, despite some cool additions, the campaign is almost the same in difficulty as the vanilla version (except maybe the last mission, these elves were stronger than undeads from vanilla). So i switched to hard after 5th mission.
I really appreciate the effort put into re-voicing the dialogues. Although it's a bit of a pity that in the first scenario the peaceful "village" undead lost their voice lines. Many of the replacements are quite witty - such as new version of Arthas "corruption" or the way you recruit skeletons in 1st scenario.

There were almost no issues, except may be one - Nerubian Seers are not undead (cant be coiled).

ADDITIONAL NECESSARY INFORMATION
  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.
