Reforged World editor

Hello guys,

when I open the world editor via the battle.net launcher, it always open the classic world editor even though I picked "HD" as asset mode in the preferences.
Furthermore, it always shows up "referencing unknown database field: 'netsafe' (Doodads/DoodadMetaData.slk)" and "referencing unknown database field: 'netsafe' (Doodads/UI/SkinMetaData.slk)" no matter what map I am opening.

Besides, in the "Unit Editor" it doesn't show up all possible attributes, so a lot of information is hide.

It's a fresh downloaded and latest version of Warcraft III and I didn't even start the game itself.

Thank you!

What graphics are you using ingame? The asset mode of the editor is tied to what you've picked in the game graphic settings

You can ignore both error messages, they show up since reforged but have no apparent consequence. Not sure what you mean about the attributes not showing up though

I use the reforged graphics ingame.

Regarding to your question: For example when I copy the unit "barracks" (of the humans), it doesn't show me the attribute "Art - Ground Texture" on my copied unit (the custom one). So I can't change the ground texture anymore.

I correct myself, seems like the asset mode can be set independently from the ingame settings now. I see that it requires restarting the editor to take effect though, did you do that?

I see what you mean about the missing fields now but I can't recall having this issue before, do you have everything enabled in the View tab?

Yeah I also tried to change it back to SD, restarted the World Editor, switched again to HD and restarted once more. Had no effect unfortunately.

Yes it is all enabled in the View Tab! I did check this before.
Some fields are shown just on specific units like "Pathing: Pathing Map" is shown on original units. If I create a custom "structure"-typed unit, it isn't shown somehow?!

May it be possible that my whole installation is corrupted or something? I even tried reinstalling, but this didn't change anything either.

I don't really touched Reforged World Editor just yet (I'm still using 1.29.2), but I can tell you what was wrong with the latest patch (2.0)?

As Uncle explained before, everything that's related to the WE problems in Reforged shouldn't stop you for not even making a map. The "netsafe" errors you were mentioned here during the program startup should be ignored right now since those features are broken starting on 1.33.

I believe, if you are using the Reforged World Editor, the following things should be noticed here, which are manageable:
1.In order to use the full HD assets in World Editor, you have to remove all six options below the "Asset Mode" option once you've chosen the HD option (explained in post above), then restart the World Editor.
2.JassHelper/vJass are disabled by default according to devs. You have to enable it manually through Trigger Editor.
3.Missing special effects and animation on most HD assets (might be related to PKB).
4.Imported assets can get "corrupted" for unknown reason, especially with HD assets. I highly recommend making a couple of different backups and using the "Save Map As Folder" feature so that you don't need to open the World Editor to replace any broken assets.
5.Unit-Type window gets cramped up. To fix it, simply press Ctrl + D and only use the rawcodes.

In case you feel the Reforged WE is broken and want to make a map with some new features (like 24 Players, Widescreen, Custom UI, and Lua), the latest patch before Reforged (1.31) still works without problem, especially the World Editor, although some of those features were still broken or unfinished due to the release of "Reforged".

Thank you so much for your reply!

5. Ctrl + D doesn't fix the problem, that some important attribute fields are not shown in every unit. But I've managed to find a workaround here: If I edit the structure before I copy it as a custom unit, it has the needed attribute field (like "Art: Ground Texture"). Is there any kind of extern tool to make all the fields accessible for me?

How can I access another version of the WE - like the 1.31 Version, you mentioned?

I don't know about the first question. Maybe someone can help with "important attribute fields" problem?

As for the second question, it's your decision whether you switch or not. You don't have to actually. You can have many Warcraft 3 versions on one PC (2.0 and 1.31, for example), but you must put each in own folder, and that you must start the correct exe files so that you don't run into Battle.net app.

To get another version of the game (and WE), like 1.31 version, you have to visit this thread below:

After that, extract your downloaded content and put it in a separate folder.
Once you extracted the game content, run the game through "x86_x64\Warcraft III.exe" and the WE through "x86_x64\World Editor.exe".
When you open the game, you'll see a small window about CD-Key, but be sure to click on the first option where you have to enter the ROC key.
You may want to delete the "Warcraft III Launcher.exe" since it auto-updates your game installation to Reforged.

Be aware that if you want to switch between 2.0 (Reforged) and 1.31, you have to delete the registry first.
However, if you want to use World Editor on both versions, only delete this item:
"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\WorldEdit\Tool Window".
