Is it possible to buy Warcraft 3 (Not Reforged) digitally?

I am looking for a way to get another copy of Warcraft that is NOT Reforged. As near as I can tell, Blizzard only sells Reforged now through battle.net. Is there any other way to get a legal copy of Warcraft 3 without purchasing the CDs at collector's item prices?

I think the only place to do that is third party marketplaces like this where you buy an old CD key and then download the game somewhere. I'm assuming you know blizzard will aggressively attempt to upgrade it to reforged as soon as it touches the internet. and If you are just buying the cd key anyways you can do that via blizzard directly anyways...

Getting a digital copy of the Warcraft III (of course with valid CD Keys) that's not a Reforged (aka "Legacy") is quite difficult right now. Not to mention, anyone who owns a copy of the both clients (Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne) from the past will now have a free access to play the very latest version of the game, albeit without new contents that are Reforged-exclusives. If you still want an non-Reforged WC3 clients with valid CD Keys, please do what Chesire suggested by using a third-party marketplaces like G2A + downloading the game from somewhere (recommended to use the Hive's dedicated thread for the legacy clients, like this one), or simply going straight to the latest version of the game (Reforged) with the "Classic" contents being retained.

Also, keep in mind that if you are going to use the legacy downloader from Blizzard, which can be found here, you can only patch your game up to 1.27b. This is probably the safest way to play Warcraft III without Reforged, though I didn't really like this due to the lack of native 16:9 resolution (in-game screen was stretched).

I'm looking to get another copy of the game to give to my kids' cousins so they can play custom maps together. Will Reforged allow you to network with older non-reforged versions of the game?

As long as you have already installed this game from the Battle.net with your CD Key attached to your account, it is possible to play the game on the official server, even if you don't own Reforged. Of course, you are forced to always be on the latest patch of the game, NOT from the older patches.

Non-Reforged users can still play ladder (melee games) or custom games using the official Battle.net server against those who own the Reforged.

However, if you want to remain on older non-Reforged versions of the game (aka "legacy builds"), you need to use third-party alternatives like GameRanger or Radmin. Keep in mind that those tricks won't allow you to play custom games from the official Battle.net server, but Local Area Network play still works.
