Hello everyone. I have an idea for a totally different version of the StarCraft II campaigns for Terran, Zerg, and Protoss. I wanted to share this idea with other people to see if anyone thinks it is good or interesting.
To start out with, I would rewrite the last moments in the last cutscene in StarCraft Brood War and that Zeratul and the Protoss did not show up in 'Dark Origin' . Instead of stopping the war, Kerrigan would press on the advantage that she has after defeating the UED, Dominion, and the Protoss. The UED, Dominion, and the Protoss would create a temporary alliance in order to stem the onslaught of the Zerg. Knowing that they would not be able to defeat the Zerg with conventional tactics, the alliance would put most of their resources into the research and development of biochemical weapons.
The Terran campaign starts five years later. The Dominion has nearly completed a deadly Zerg virus that would wipe out nearly all of the Zerg and Kerrigan herself. But the Zerg have nearly wiped out the alliance, so it is a race for the finish line for each faction. Mengsk, looking for anyone to help the alliance, asks Jim Raynor and his Raiders to aid in protecting scientists, evacuating key personell in fallen worlds, and gathering the materials and resources needed in order to complete the virus. After finally completing the virus, the alliance, with the help of Jim Raynor, take the war to Char and administer the virus to Kerrigan's Swarm, killing her and the Zerg she controls.
After the death of Kerrigan, the Zerg are lost and leaderless. Many Zerg queens vie for the chance to become the supreme ruler of all the Zerg. Amidst the chaos of another Zerg civil war, the alliance stays together and starts to destroy the rest of the Zerg in other planets and retake their colonies. In the Zerg campaign, Duran sees an opportunity to awaken the hybrids and take control of the Zerg for himself. He does so and demonstrates his superiority to the other Queens by besting them in battle. All seems like it is going Duran's way, but the hybrids start to revolt and use their special powers to control the Zerg and use them to their own ends.
In the Protoss campaign, the Protoss have taken back many of their colonies. Zeratul is sent on a mission to take back Shakuras. While dealing with the Zerg there, Zeratul comes across a hybrid and is very concerned about the possibilities of the power of a Protoss Zerg hybrid can wield. Zeratul goes into a grand temple in order to commune with his Gods and gather any new information about these hybrids. Zeratul learns that the UED had been experimenting on Protoss and Zerg, trying to create a superweapon to defeat their enemies. Zeratul immediately informs the Protoss, and warns the Protoss leadership not to inform the alliance about this revelation, lest the alliance shatter, leaving the Terrans and Protoss weak and unable to successfully fight the hybrids.
The leaders decide to inform the alliance of this revelation, which prompts the Dominion, UED, and Protoss to further invest in research and development to learn how to control the hybrids and thus control the Zerg. Zeratul realizes that the visions that he experienced at the temple were warning him of the dangers of letting those who are only interested in subjugation and domination know about the hybrids. Zeratul talks to Raynor and tells him that the Protoss and Terran need new leaders with new and better ideology in order to stop the endless wars from happening.
