Hey,

I have been using an empty player slot for one of my scripted units. I noticed that I am unable to give this player vision over other units or players (which us needed so it can issue orders on units it doesn't naturally see). In order to get it to work I switched it to the neutral extra slot. I was wondering though, in a case where all the neutral slots are unavailable, is there a way to give vision to empty player slots, or create a phantom player that will still count as a player object who can have it's attributes edited, but will not recieve orders from the AI?

I think it should work as long as you set them to "computer" and not "neutral" in the player properties? The reason is this

if that is talking about empty player slots and not neutral aggressive, passive and neutral than it is an extremely confusing way to say that. because the neutral slots (that i just listed) can indeed share vision (or at least be recipients of shared vision).

in any case, I know this is being blocked at face value. I am asking if there is a known workaround.

if you set them to computer, I assume the computer player AI would start ordering them around, which I would like to avoid.

Why not just reveal the entire map for the empty slot player?

I had a recent bug pop up where Cpu units with no AI script have started running around. I fixed by removing the ability to move. The only purpose of this unit was to pretty much starfall the entire map. So it was easy to just disable movement for that one unit.
