A parody of Warcraft 3's first campaign: Scourging of Lordaeron, where you play the campaign as Garithos and his Captain, Bilric Rothar. It has AI voices, custom units, items and cutscenes. It's mainly focussed in altering the story of the human campaign so I don't have much to offer regarding gameplay.

King Terenas promotes Garithos to Grand Marshal and gives the command of the Forces of Lordaeron. Lord Garithos sends Arthas away and marches on a journey with his loyal captain, Bilric Rothar to stop the plague that consumes Lordaeron.

Saviours of Mankind Symbol

SPOILER WARNING - This is where I explain the the stuff that was asked regarding lore of this campaign.
  • The spell Exorcism is from WarCraft 2, and is unreleated to the enchantments Lord Garithos asks to protect the villages. The one Garithos asked was the undead damaging aura that appears in the Path of the Dead campaign where Arthas invades Dalaran. Unfortunately I couldn't find a proper place to use that but I kept it nonethless because it was essential to revealing the Dreadlord's disguise.
  • Garithos started recuiting former Silver Hand paladins and begin to form the Saviours of Mankind before the start of the campaign.
  • Uther and Garithos aren't in the same command chain. They command different armies. Uther saying that he's superior as a Knight was not related to his rank, but for him being more experienced than Garithos.
  • Arthas and the Undead Scourge are enemies in Mission 9 but they never attack each other for the sake of the mission difficulty.
  • Garithos has Lion symbol on his shield so I used it as symbol of his faction. I know Stormwind has this too but Lordaeron Crest also has a lion on the hammer if you look clearly. I figured that lion symbolizes humans, not Stormwind.

What's Next?
There won't be any take over campaigns. As I'm planning a sequel to this story and characters. It'll probaby take place after Frozen Throne, in Outland. But since I'll also need to make new terrains, it'll take a lot more time. I don't know when I can start making it.

Patch 1.01
  • Fixed Chapter 2 Dwarf Sacrifice cinematic where everything stays invunerable when you skip it.
  • Changed the trigger that loads Arthas instead of Garithos in mission 7 and 8.
Patch 1.02
  • Fixed the bug causing units to pause for eternity in mission 3 where Garithos goes to get his "reward".
  • Fixed the bug when the quest item gets picked by Bilric.
  • Disabled the trigger that re-sends Garithos to take the Frostmourne after the Frostmourne cinematic sequence.

Found this campaign totally by chance when youtube recommanded it to me, Glad to see its finally out!!

Edit: Found the first bug on the second mission if you grab Searinox heart with Captain Bilric you cannot hand it over to the dwarfs so it can be reforged into teh orb of fire.

2 decades ago, something about the ending of the human campaign and how the undead campaign went through didn't sit right with me.
Turns out it was simple, I don't like it when degeneracy and evil wins. Give me something similar to PJ's LoTR, where good triumphs over evil.

tldr; let's have fun again.

Yeah, sorry about that. I'm too poor to afford voice acting or a decent art (the AI always mess it up to do what has told when it comes to art but the quality still checks out). Of course I could release it without voice acting but it's a painful journey for me. Video game dialogues are meant to hear, not read. Doing a voice acting with a friend group would also end up in disaster, and I don't have any voice actor friends.

All that aside, the whole campaign was made for my personal amusement, made for cinematics. I wasn't even willing to publish this until my viewers from Youtube asked for it.

The units that I added was also a joke in humanizing Garithos, I didn't think of balancing them much, even though I tried to get some ideas from existing units with their damage, armor and cost. Hard brings some challenge for a mediocre player but can't say the same for a veteran player. I'm not a veteran Warcraft 3 player to determine the difficulty and balance of the game. I barely play the game myself.

My humble suggest is that if you wish to boycott the usage of AI, go brother video game companies that are using them, not some poor guy on the internet who uses it for fun.

It seems that the captain's model is not displayed?
Is anyone else having this? I believe it's a Reforged issue and I have no idea how to fix it.

I don't know the details, my version is Reforged 2.0, and I used Quenching Mod (v2.5), but I turned it off

In the first chapter, the captain's model is normal

Stealing is never fun. Fun is never an excuse. I would 100x prefer bad voice acting than usage of AI ; unless you train your own AI with people agreeing to share their voice for that very project. Furthermore you may use your influence to seek out people willing to participate in your projects, which would be much more interesting for them !
Of course I understood your intent before you published the campaign. Still, that participates in the unethical popularity of AI usage.
I don't have the power, the time nor the influence to yeet all AI content from the Hive. So in the meantime, projects using generative AI for assets would never incite any kind of sympathy from me ; until AI stops stealing stuff but that's another story. You had the power and liberty to not use generative AI but you still did. Everyone should take the world boss at their level !

I fight for the just reconnaissance of artists and I feel you're not helping it. But we are two random people on the internet, let's touch grass and never speak of this again.

That is just a matter of experience, testing and polishing so it's not big of a deal. That's my bias as a custom faction maker who has to never overshadow the current factions. We have different perspectives. I find the AI voices funny and enjoyable, you don't. If they didn't exist, I wouldn't make this campaign, unless the old voice actors raise from the grave to do voice acting for it for free. I don't like it when mediocre or bad voice actor replace the voice of an existing character. Same with doing artworks.

Call it stealing or not, that's not my concern. I'm not here to debate that either.

In Chapter 2, after the cutscene of sending the dwarves to their deaths, all units are invincible, and the level is stuck, and the mission cannot be completed.
That is caused by the skip cinematic, as I forgot to make the units vulnerable for cinematic cancel sequence.

A fix is on the way but if you simply wish to continue now, don't skip the cinematic.

I've seen the full gameplay of this campaign on youtube, will you upload Conquest of Azeroth as well? I found both very funny but I liked Conquest of Azeroth more. Either way, in its own way, it's great so 5/5

Seems like I forgot to change this. Have you completed the Culling btw? It should've loaded the heroes from previous mission rather than creating new one.
I had to go through each map and test if the they look fine after I set supported modes to HD & SD like you showed me. Please try changing the supported modes if that's ok with you. I had no lag whatsoever on my side while having it set to HD. It's been a hassle to change that setting btw.

Interesting campaign, but I hope you can avoid using Blizzard's terrain.
That's the joke of this campaign I'm afraid. I won't be making new terrains for it.

I had to go through each map and test if the they look fine after I set supported modes to HD & SD like you showed me. Please try changing the supported modes if that's ok with you. I had no lag whatsoever on my side while having it set to HD.
Very well. I still need to replace the model of the characters that give transmissions in case someone uses HD.

The fact that you didn't use any custom models for Highlord Garithos, means that his vanilla model is depiction of a True Chad.
Of course! :ogre_haosis:

The custom models out there messes up his epic moustache. Although I still don't like his helmet being reskin of knight hair, his moustache is just too good :grin:

You can actually summon and send him to the Blademaster and get him shish-kebabbed.

Damn, AI-upscaled icons looks ugly as hell. You should select HD ones at least, they look better.

Same problems in my campaing, that's why i have some issue with hero attack in some chapters. Seems like reforged bug idk

Noticed some bugs as I am going along.

In the second mission, I accidentally let Captain Bilric pick up the heart of Searinox and the quest bugged. Can't drop it/give it to Garithos to fix the quest as the quest item is unmovable and can't complete it with the Captain. I replayed the mission and made sure that Garithos picks it up which worked.

However, another bug was that after the cutscene with the dwarves all the units remained invulnerable and the mission could not be completed as a result. I had to reload and avoid the cutscene (by not destroying the orc base and going straight to kill the blademaster).

This is a regular problem where after cutscenes units are left invulnerable when they shouldn't be. Usually it's Captain Bilric.

Is anyone else having this? I believe it's a Reforged issue and I have no idea how to fix it.
I am having this randomly, but not with the hero. Just with random units. Also, I am not playing in reforged mode, I am playing with classic graphics.

I watched the youtube series for your work, it was actually fantastic. Made me laugh non-stop. Maybe it is not fair to give a rating just based on the cinematics without trying the gameplay, but in my mind, cinematics is the main part of a campaign, so I'm happy to rate it just from watching the cinematic scenes :D.
I suggest you shorter the file name (currently it is: Garithos takes over the Human Campaign.w3n).
The main issue with long campaign names is in transition campaigns, like the Rexxar campaign, which doesn't apply to your case, but I think I remember there being other issues when the length name is long. Maybe @Warseeker knows more. It is still an easy change to make, you could just rename it GtotHC.w3n

Although it really was a good campaign (where not much changed from the original), there is something about it that made me want to abandon it. I noticed that all the texts were altered (maybe due to a language version), but this is something that has never happened to me before, so I’m posting here.

Yes, I know... maybe it's because my game is in a different language from the original campaign, but as I said, this has never happened to me in any other campaign.

I think something gives the campaign localization rather than making English default. I don't know where exactly I can turn that off. Easiest way you can fix this is to switch to English version of the game.

Genuinely a very solid campaign. Really funny and filled with cool references. The addition of secret legendary items made exploring old maps fun. That being said, it is the Scourge of Lordaeron for the 10th time. It sounds like you want to turn this into a series, and I cannot wait to play it. The only thing I'd ask for is original maps and more cool secrets and items, because they're awesome.
