Create an Invisible units with AOE effects?

Hello, I have this really cool idea for a Ward that is invisible and has damage auras and the objective is to use far sight spell to look for them in a large room and kill them before you die.

However, I've come to realize that whenever you add invisibility to any unit at all, any aura effects (i.e. healing, immolation, etc) gets cancelled out. I even checked with truesight to actually see these wards and they ARE there! but the aura for some reason is gone...

Why is this happening?

Its a default option for the game. I guess they didnt want abuse of auras on invisible units and also not give up their position. The option can be changed within gameplay constant: Invisible units bestow auras.

You may want to consider triggering the damage aura yourself, not to disturb the natural order of things.

I believe units will flee in a direct line away from any invisible damage source, if they are capable of fleeing. That might make it pretty easy to find the invisible wards. If that's the case you could avoid this behavior by doing your own area search around each ward and then periodically reducing the health of units found to be near the wards (instead of giving them immolation). Reducing health doesn't count as damage in the game engine so will have no AI response.
