This Map Has Been Switched To A Hero Arena that focuses more on the areas of leveling, If it gets a thumbs up, ill add more modes + heroes + areas.

100 heroes is insane, and a little stupid. Try for 12-20 for a finished map, then, once everyting else is done, make more heroes. If you try to make 100 heroes, they will end up being the same thing again and again.

If you have ever played the anime hero arena, you will see what I mean. When I played it (a while ago), there were at least 50 heroes, with most taken by computer players before you got a chance. Every hero was the same. Stats varied slightly, and a few had unique moves, but the majority were all the same.

You can easily fit all you thought up spaces in the map, it is just a matter of the size of each place. Go to WE, make a new map of the maximum size, drop in a Peasant (with speed modded to max) and run from one side to the other. It takes a while. Maps can be absolutely huge.

If this is your first project, make it in parts with goals. E.g. Make 1 mode(Arena may be the best bet), level limit 20-30, 12 heroes and a basic AI. This way, you can see the progress that you have made, check your skills, learn how to use World Editor and get a map out (only if it is good and playable). If your map is well recieved, continue. If not, take the criticism in, learn from your mistakes and start again.

Your goal should be a map that people actually want to download and play. this methid will also help you maintain interest because I assure you, a map where you try to do everything at once gets no where, you will get bored and the map will never get finished.

Ok, ill try that :D. Just need to try something different. Aim for a decent amount of unique heroes, and balance and try to make each game unique. Thanks for the help :3 Also ive tried to give at least most the heroes at least 1 triggered spell. Also I never use the same spell on 2 heroes, maybe same base but theyre always at least a little different.

I only emphasise unique gameplay and the like because you have DotA to compete with. Most people play that and it is near impossible to get them off it, even for a short game of something else.

Good Luck with your map and if you need help with anything, just ask.

in the original version, the name is Claire (a biblic name)
"Claire" sounds "Clare" in latin, japaneses respectfully prunonce it "Clare" as in latin and write it "Claire" as in latin too (when they don't use kanjis).
americans don't do the same and many manga's characters with european name (japaneses love europa, don't ask why, i dunno) aren't spelling as they should be (even in official translations sometimes ><).

I think this is a genius idea, but it's also dangerous. If you've ever played Vgames Rpg, it has quite a variety of characters, but unfortuanetly the heroes are poorly developed, the level advancement sucks, there quite a few character unique items, but it makes it annoying sometimes too. And there's no real story, supposedly you go around killing bad guys from various games. No quests or anything.

I have thought of a map idea similar to this and I can bring in more input, but just wanted to start you off by having something to compare it to.

one innovative thought would be combos. Like if the guy from gants has a rush ability, it would A) just give him increased speed if he used it on himself, B) stun an opponent if he used it on them, or C) could be used with clare's sword slash for a super sword rush combo. Think her using her sword to throw him in the air, him with his sword slicing down, and if timed right again, could be sword duet combo for both of them to use sword attack at the same moment.
I think that especially in an anime rpg, it would be cool.

On further thought, normal combos shouldn't necessarily but quite so much stronger, but there could be combo finishers, which are. You can do that by letting their be combo point negative buffs every time they use a normal combo
You do a couple of combo hits with your buddy pull back while someone else tanks for a second, use the X slash attack (duel simaltaneous sword attacks) and another follow up and finally a combo finisher. Since they had 4 combo points it uses them all up for more more dmg per combo point and does an extra 50% dmg because it was part of the triple series combo, (the last 3 were part of their own special combo), and the boss becomes immune to either the same combo finisher or any combos for 30 seconds.
Yeah, it's a little WoWish but i think it works well.

its pretty hard considering i had to redo this map once cause the file got glitched, and i dont think thatd be easy, unless i changed this to turn based fighting system

Yeah, it's something that would require a lot of triggers but i think a well designed combo system would be an amazing feature that would help set it apart from other rpgs, but it's also a lot of work and you may easily decide to not put it in till later or at all.

I'm a big fan of using buffs as counters or timers.
The starter combo move puts a buff on the mob. The buff lasts for 2 or 3 seconds. The second move cause the buff to be consumed, causing bonus dmg to the target, and puts another buff, which can be consumed by the final special move attack.

Add floating text for combos. It's not much more complicated putting in combo points. Every non finishing move move adds combo points. If you want to simplify it, don't worry about making individual combos like X-strike, but designate some moves combo starters, which put Buff A on target. Combo continuers put Buff B on the target if it already has Buff A or Buff B, and stackable Buff Z. Combo Finishers consumes Buff A and/or B and all Buff Zs. Combo Finishers do a multiplier of it's damage for each Buff Z it consumes.

Buff Zs are the combo points.

Combo Starters - allows for combo continuers
Combo Continuers - Adds combo points
Combo Finishers - Do a multipier of dmg depending on number of combo points

One way to regulate it easily is putting a decent cooldown on abilites, especially combo continuers
Doing any decent damage with combo finishers would require multiple people so they can get up to 3 or 4 combo points.
Ranks in combo continuers would probably decrease the cooldown some.

Overall I still think you map is absolutely awsome. I dont think the combo system is necassery, but it would be a cool addition. I hope you add more, but I love the ones you already have, like complimenting Mugen with Jin.

Don't listen to ghost of war. Everyone knows if your dealing with final fatasy 10 or lower, its way over used in wc3.
Main thing you need is custom spells
and more custom spells
and even more trigger enhanced spells
Thats what keeps people entertained when it comes to like hero fighting maps.
it isn't the capture the flag or destroy the base.
Its the unique-ness in the heroes, good you have alot. But now you have to make them fun, and no 2 alike.
So ppl can try every hero and whe nthey are done, they played so many times they have to replay because they forgot what some heroes are like.

I wouldn't also make to many main stream anime characters. Then it will be crap like the other anime games with them. Only 2 anime maps were fun, original Anime arenas, till ppl unprotected and rigged them.

Anime arena got unpopular when more maps started coming out with custom spells that are trigger enhanced, and anime fight was popular because of them, i mean did u c the terrain it was horrible.

Once your done with this and if the terrain looks bad, i'll fix it for you lol. Tired of arenas having shitty terrain. People don't worry about it because its mainly about the heroes, but terrain also helps map appeal.

i think that the final shouldn't be just from bleach, it should have other characters like orochimaru, or the akatsuki, it could also have the 7 evil dragons from dragon ball gt, etc.

Ive been busy at school for awhile, and i think im gonna try to fix my old harddrive so i can get my map. And im working hard to fix terrain up, basically saved all units and etc and jus made a new map so i can work the terrain up! Also i agree all the way on The 2nd paragraph. gonna make everything i can trigger based and use %s/Levels instead of set values Ex- Deal (LevelxSkill Level) Damage. instead of linear 100-250-400. Ive been watching all the most random animes i could find to add better heroes, cept its hard to go though alot w/ school + social. Maybe limit # of characters from each anime/manga to 2-3, but before that...

need to work on things like eye candy and a fighting system! yay for extreme noob triggering.
My priorities on the map are as followed

1.Fighting System
2.Eye Candy(Skills/Terrain)
3.Hero Uniqueness
4.Heroes and Items(# of and system of working it)

5.after i get my fighting system done and leakless i don't expect to do anything good with heroes that ill have to redo

you should make eye candy totally, like literally. Eye of sargares colored like an easter bunny egg XD EYE CANDY YAY

Is the animes limited to Anime shows, or Anime games, included?

Yeah like doing the ability "give eye candy" which gives the eye candy to a unit and they get poisoned for like 2000 dps cause there was razorblades and needles with drugs on them, inside the candy.

No but i agree with what void is saying, wanderer is no dif from other npc's really if all they do is attack. Maybe cinematic if they are cool enough and of course abilities to actually be casted, maybe order it to use items.

for the skill eye candy, i just dont want visuals to always be bland, and cinematic would probably be dumb, because no one wants to watch even a short 3 second cinematic every time they cast a spell. And for "Wanderer AI," i may need help, but im not going to focus on it for a while
