Meteor Fall: Summons a meteor from space to pummel the targeted area. When the meteor hits the ground, it will deal damage to nearby enemy units and roll for a set distance. As it rolls, it will deal damage per second and knock back enemy units that are in its path. If the meteor rolls the full distance or runs into a structure or terrain, it will explode; dealing damage and stunning enemy units for a few seconds.

If the Nightmare of the Labyrinth is alive, the Taratect Egg Sack automatically hatch spawning a permanent Taratect depending on the level of the Egg Laying ability of Nightmare of the Labyrinth. If the Nightmare of the Labyrinth is dead and learned the Egg Revival ability, then the Taratect Egg Sack can be used to instantly revive the Nightmare of the Labyrinth with a 160 second cooldown. The Nightmare of the Labyrinth will return with half of health and no mana.

Poison Synthesis: Adds a poison effect to each melee attack, that deals damage over time for 20 seconds. Also enhances other Nightmare of the Labyrinth abilities with each level learned:

Sticky Web Trap - Decreases the life regeneration rate of nearby hostile units.
Egg Laying - Taratects spawned with Envenomed Spider Fangs ability that deals poison damage.
Egg Revival - Damages nearby hostile units upon revival.

Added audio quotes when certain heroes cast specific spells. (Ainz: Black Hole, Meteor Fall)
Creeps are now mostly randomized with new creeps.

Anime-wise, this is very interesting. Gameplay wise, some felt somewhat underwhelming. I still like the map overall, and inclusion of more anime characters is something I really support.
Which ones are underwhelming? Perhaps I can make it more epic :grin:

And yea, we need more anime and game characters especially in the altered melee category since they are usually seen only in aos, hero arena and hero siege.

  3. Regardless, the bigger issue is these heroes having more AoS oriented abilities rather than melee ones.
  4. The map should be saved for higher TfT melee patches because not all regular Tavern heroes appear.
  5. Shark vTuber's ultimate is just Tranquility, nothing custom. Also, the clouds are quite visually impeding when multiple units would be on the screen.
  6. Long Ears has Searing Arrows like the Priestess of the Moon.
  7. Entoma has Evasion like the Demon Hunter.
  8. Blood Frenzy=Berserk.
  9. Some spells like the Meteor Fall and Water Form seem to be taken straight out of DotA.
  10. Flying heroes especially for so long is heavily imbalanced.
  11. Demiurge has Inferno as the Dreadlord.
So while a nice idea in theory, it's just some custom heroes dressed up for a masked ball. More importantly, they are not quite melee ready. Also, some custom abilities are not impressive at all but are merely bonus stats which should be something items give IMO.

Acktually the Alexstrasza model was converted by Gtron, not Razorclaw_X. Personally, I think it's fine and very cool that characters from multiple universes are colliding in a single map.

For those AoS maps in question, it fits because they are visually consistent and the scope is anime inspired, wholly. I mean, a total anime conversion creative anime altered melee map would have been the way to go.
Custom heroes in tavern was the intention like the maps I listed in the inspiration list. But an anime race is a nice idea and I might do in the future... Though getting the appropriate building models with animations would be hardest part.

Regardless, the bigger issue is these heroes having more AoS oriented abilities rather than melee ones.
I think it's fine? But more indepth information will help me rebalance the heroes.

The map should be saved for higher TfT melee patches because not all regular Tavern heroes appear.
The map is set to use the latest melee patch already. I thought it would automatically add the missing neutral heroes but it didn't. Probably because I edited the tavern object data to add the next and previous page buttons. I will fix it in the next update.

Shark vTuber's ultimate is just Tranquility, nothing custom.
Long Ears has Searing Arrows like the Priestess of the Moon.
Entoma has Evasion like the Demon Hunter.
Demiurge has Inferno as the Dreadlord.
As for the vanilla skills, well I ran out of ideas. Future updates would probably replace these abilities with new custom abilities.

Unfortunately, reducing the scaling value of the Storm Cloud kinda breaks the model... And there are no appropriate other models to replace it.

Some spells like the Meteor Fall and Water Form seem to be taken straight out of DotA.
Well I have little to no experience with Dota, so I didn't know that. The Meteor Fall was based from the overlord wiki.

Acktually the Alexstrasza model was converted by Gtron, not Razorclaw_X. Personally, I think it's fine and very cool that characters from multiple universes are colliding in a single map.

Then we will have to agree to disagree. I don't think it negatively affects the map gameplay-wise.

You could use assets from here:
to make the terrain anime-like which would make sense for the heroes to be there and Warcraft III armies ended up in that anime world for some reason.

Oh, nice suggestion :infl_thumbs_up:

I did it consider using custom ui and tiles in this map before and refrained but I might acutally do it in future updates since map file size isn't really a concern anymore.

Finally got around to playing a match.

I played an FFA as Humans. My first hero choice was Alexstrasa and it played pretty much like a normal Melee. Later on I got Strongest Floor Guardian and, though it went well at first, I eventually got defeated. That to me says the heroes are pretty well balanced (or I'm just bad at Melee no matter what Heroes there are XD).

Admittedly I'm only familiar with Alexstrasa (I actually find her a weird addition since she's not really from an anime...?)

I'm definetly looking forward to more heroes and I'll also play around with a few more.

Some heroes that I'd personally be interested in seeing in future updates:

  • Seras Victoria from Hellsing Ultimate (I think she's got a model on Chaosrealm)
  • Pretty much anyone from Akame ga Kill (not sure if models exist).
  • I know Mikasa may be added in the future but more AoT Heroes would be amazing.

I could try and think up powers as well but I'll post those to the Development Thread.

Also, maybe you could add quotes to the heroes when they do certain actions through in-game text? Just an idea, really. It wouldn't have to be a whole speechbank or anything. Maybe even just a line for when they spawn?

I also think a little bit of history maybe in their description could be nice. I doubt I'm the only one unfamiliar with some of the characters and a bit of in-game context would be nice. All up to you, of course.

The map was really fun and I'm looking forward to future updates. I actually really love Anime-themed Warcraft maps and this one I feel was done well.

While the map is pretty anime-centric, its also includes game characters + other misc characters (Gura which is a vTuber). The G in the name is for the game characters. I'm planning to add more game related characters eventually.

Did a quick search and yeah there are models. I think there is even an Akame ga Kill map here in hive though for a bit I confused this for Kill la Kill.
Yea, I already gotten some ideas for Eren by searching AoT x game collab wikis. You might see Eren after Mikasa is added.

Also I already written a list of heroes to add other than the 4 heroes I mentioned previously but I seems to have misplaced it somewhere... For posterity, I will write it here.

From top of my head in no particular order:
Junpei Lori (Persona 3 - Anime/Manga/Game)
Aigis (Persona 3 - Anime/Manga/Game)
Marco Rossi/Eri Kasamoto (Metal Slug series - Game)
Bomberman (Game)
Loki (Marvel Comics - Other)
Naruto or Sasuke (pretty low on priority list)
Sadako/Kayako (J Horror Movies - Other)
Samus (Game)
Mobile Game Gacha Characters (Game)

Well there is a quote already in the map. When Goblin Slayer revives using his ultimate Slayer's Will he will say a text line "Not yet...!"

But yeah, I can see what you mean. A nice idea, I will put it on the to do list.

I actually even have Ainz voicelines though I recall that playing custom sounds causes it to play across the entire map instead of where Ainz is but I was pretty new to mapmaking back then. I might try my hand at that again.

Very true. I will add some basic info for them in future versions.

The map was really fun and I'm looking forward to future updates. I actually really love Anime-themed Warcraft maps and this one I feel was done well.

Tatsumaki's powers fit her nicely, and it's cool that the powers and icons fit the character in colour and whatnot. It's a small detail I think, but it's cool to see.

I'm personally not a fan of the UI, it's a bit of an eyesore. That's just me though. Something a bit more subtle might be better imo.

Indeed, I started implementing some suggestions like yours if possible like audio quotes when certain heroes cast spells though finding such soundbites will be difficult. Future audio quotes will include Shadow's I am atomic quote. And I started making the map even more animeish/gameish with custom creeps and neutrals. Maybe the next version will include custom tiles too.

Did you just read my mind? Haha yea, I been thinking about changing the UI too and even wrote it in a comment inside the map so I don't forget. For the time being I'm considering something gameish like

or a different anime UI. I saw a couple of anime UIs over on xgm a while back.

Well, anyway, I don't know why, but every time I use Guardian Overseer's Poison Mist skill, the game keeps freezing.
I don't know if it's because the machine or version of the game has a problem, but even if I open the Map through the World Editor or enter the war3.exe and turn on this skill in the range of about 10-15 minutes onwards, the machine keeps getting stuck...
I've only started playing Warcraft III again recently, so I am not clear many things, I think I'm at least hoping for guidance so that I don't get this bug anymore (._.)

Thanks for the bug report!

Hm, I double checked Albedo's Poison Mist triggering and didn't notice anything wrong. Sadly, I think it might be the game version and there's nothing I can do about that other than suggesting playing on lower patches. The map was made for patch 1.27 by the way.

Another suggestion would be to play this instead Fleck's Melee Altered Combined (FMAC) v1.3

The custom heroes here are also available there with a more variety of maps though destructible neutral buildings and custom creeps are missing though.

Perhaps it might crash less for you there?

Throw floating ring has a test throw message.
Terrible Tornado's Psychic Pull on building is probably one of the funniest things ever :p

Removed Throw Flotation Ring debug message.
Structures are no longer valid target for Psychic Pull ability.

I would have let Psychic Pull be if it actually move the building :grin:

It actually did move the building, but it is very erratic and cause a lot of weird stuffs like I moved a Undead Gold Mine around 2000 range due to how bizzare the movement works for buildings.

This is why I called it funniest thing ever, since I end up with some weird shenanigans using that ability. Sorry for not being clear since it was late when I wrote that report.

It is interesting to hear that! From my limited testing, the building moved at first then stopped moving on any further attempts :grin:

This map has really changed since the last time I played it.

The Custom Creeps and Events make it feel fresh and help blend the Custom Heroes into the map, which is great.

Having Custom Mercenaries is a great touch, and they were some of the first things I checked out.

Also the UI is much better now, not as colorful.

Seems well-balanced as ever because battles, even with the additions, are much like in regular Melee.

I didn't play much because I got destroyed (playing as Undead, my worst Race) but I'll definetly check out more.

Other than custom creeps and events, you can also destroy neutral buildings to deny its usage to opponents which also drop random items and spawn hostile creeps on its destruction. This was inspired from Verdun's SHORTLEGS altered melee map (destroyable neutral buildings), Azeolux's Neon City altered melee map (random events). More events like random traveling merchants and variants which may be recruited once defeated or drop unique items will be added eventually.

Now that I think about it, I don't actually mentioned adding random events anywhere but in my original post in my Melee Altered Development Thread that I quietly edited in to the AGAM to do list. A nice bonus to add too is modern day items to replace the default, vanilla items if the random creep type is appropriate (modern zombies, 40k, etc).

I'm planning to add Andorhal as the next map for AGAM but made to look modern/futuristic too since such maps are rare and more variety since playing on the same terrain gets repetitive.

I'm glad you enjoyed the custom mercenaries, I put lot of work in fixing the models (missing attachments, decay anims, etc) for the custom creeps. I always thought there were rather underutilized in vanilla and altered melee.

Next update will add the fourth creep type, Nintendo game creeps, plus a possible fitting Custom Hero (Bowser).
